The department’s motor branch still lags behind Rs 4.2 million as compared to the revenue collected during the same period of fiscal year 2013-14.

The Excise and Taxation Department collected almost 10 percent less revenue from the set target in the first three months.

The first quarter revenue shows that the Excise and Taxation Department needs to enhance tax collection in the coming months to achieve the target.

The department set a target to achieve 40 percent of total revenue in the first quarter, but to no avail.
