Customs adjudication serves notice on owners of seized oil

MULTAN: The Collector of Customs Adjudication has issued a show-cause notice to the owners of 40,000 liter imported oil, which was seized in Dera Ghazi Khan Region. The oil is worth Rs 3 million.

The owners of the oil tanker, Noorullah, Syed Muhammad and Muhammad Raza, have been claiming that they have purchased imported oil seized by customs in the auction of Lora Lai; however, they failed to provide any documents on which the customs seized the oil.

As per details, customs confiscated an oil tanker near Fort Munro Road in an operation conducted by Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO).

Sources informed Customs Today that the ASO had seized the oil loaded in an oil tanker from the Dera Ghazi Khan region in July.

According to the FIR, the case registration no was 162/2014 and the oil was seized on July 23 loaded on a Hino oil tanker with registration number TKM -719 Quetta.

“The Hino tanker was also non-customs duty paid and the worth of oil tanker was assessed Rs 3 million,” sources added.

Meanwhile, Multan Customs Anti Smuggling Organization department impounded a imported Prado Jeep in a raid in Sahiwal region.

Superintendent Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Malik Tanvir has seized the Jeep as the documents provided by owner were proved fake after verification. The jeep was with applied for registration status.
