NEW DELHI: Your love for food porn could soon be located on Google Maps thanks to a new feature under development. Google is reportedly testing a new feature that will detect when photos are taken at restaurants or food outlets and offer to attach them to the establishment’s location.

A report on The Verge notes that the feature is currently only available to Local Guides at level three and above, which indicates people who’ve contributed more than 50 reviews as part of Google’s Local Guides program.

Earlier this year, Google tried experimenting with a food photography service called Tablescape but shut it down later with a promise that its influence might be seen in future apps.

The new feature, however, isn’t a separate app, but the increased obsession with smartphone photography and the resulting food photography does seem to have finally found a good use.
