Marvi acknowledges Tevta efforts of imparting technical training to youths

LAHORE: Minister of State and Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon, acknowledging the Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority’s (Tevta) efforts for imparting training to youths with skilful programmes and short courses, has said that this is the only way to generate employment in the country.

While addressing a meeting at Tevta Secretariat, she emphasised the need of promoting vocational training. Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Shaikh, Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Secretary Saleem Ranjha, Punjab BISP Director Sara Saeed, Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and other top management was also present at this occasion.

Memon said that priority of Prime Minister is to look after the poor people across the country. BISP is providing stipend Rs1500 per month to help out the needy people. “Our beneficiaries will also apply to get technical and professional training in different programs being offered by Tevta Punjab. We will work with all Tevta across the country but we are starting this initiative from Tevta Punjab which is functioning well, she added.
