ISLAMABAD: The legal wing of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has failed to prepare list of cases which are pending in courts and tribunals.

As per details, the FBR has now decided to write letters to field formations to collect data about the pending cases so that the officials could estimate the revenue involved in these cases.

Sources told Customs Today that the FBR legal wing, on instruction of Chairman Tariq Bajwa, had written to field formations for data. The field formations have failed to provide the stats to the headquarters even after many reminders. FBR Member Legal Ahmad Dildar has also visited the field formations in Karachi and Lahore. Now the FBR has decided to remind the field formations again that if they failed to provide the said data they will have to face institutional penalties. The purpose of the data collection is to resolve the cases so that the FBR could collect revenue involved in these cases.
