PROSSER: Prosser Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for States Day, the 90th annual community celebration. States Day, named for the tradition of visitors signing in by their birth state, takes place Monday with a parade, live music and other events in City Park and a carnival all weekend long.
The marquee event of the weekend is the parade on Monday through downtown. Organizers bill it as one of the largest parades in Central Washington.Dick Olsen, one of the owners of Olsen Bros. Ranches outside Prosser, will be the Grand Marshal.
A stage show, highlighted by the final rounds of talent competition “Valley’s Got Talent,” will follow the parade on the stage at City Park. Meanwhile, a carnival will run Friday-Monday in the park, with discount wristbands available at the Prosser Chamber of Commerce office and Cook’s Ace Hardware.
