US customs welcomes new director in Port Huron

PORT HURON: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO), announce Mr. Andrew Douglas as the new CBP Area Port Director in Port Huron, Mich.
Mr. Douglas recently served as the Assistant Port Director for the Laredo Port of Entry in Texas. In that capacity he led a staff of over 800 personnel and was responsible for the planning, direction, and execution of all passenger operations for the fourth busiest land border crossing in the United States by passenger volume.
Previously, Mr. Douglas was assigned to CBP Headquarters where he was proactively involved in CBP’s passenger facilitation efforts. Mr. Douglas was responsible for a variety of business transformation initiatives designed to optimize passenger operations at ports of entry including the Automated Passport Control kiosks and the pedestrian reengineering program.
“I am excited to serve as Port Director in a community with such a vibrant spirit. I am eager to work with the community and stakeholders to continually improve the facilitation of lawful trade and travel while upholding our border security mission” said Port Director Douglas.
Mr. Douglas began his career in 2002 with the CBP in Nogales, Arizona and subsequently held various key positions with the agency in El Paso, Texas, Laredo Texas, and in Washington D.C.
