Court issues arrest warrants for ANF, Customs officials for not appearing in court

LAHORE: The Special Court of Anti-Narcotics has issued arrest warrants for eight officials of the Pakistan Customs and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for not appearing in the court.

Sources told Customs Today that a combined team of ANF and Customs raided Mughalpura Dry Port in August last year and allegedly recovered heroin and hydrochloric acid.

The combined team arrested Sayed Nazeer Hussain in smuggling case and presented him before the narcotics court in August 2014. The judicial trial of the accused is still underway but the officials of the raiding team are not following the case.

The Anti-Narcotics Court has sent many notices to the officials of the raiding party, but they are still not cooperating with the court. The court is willing to record their statements and witnesses regarding the smuggling case but they are not presenting themselves before the court.

Now the court has issued arrest warrants for the officials for September 15 and ordered them to appear in the court. A total 12 kilogram heroin and huge quantity of HCL were recovered by the raiding team.
