Russian wood exports increase by 8% to $628.6m in July 2015

MOSCOW: For the first seven months of 2015 total volume of wood pulp exports from Russia increased by 14.4%, to 1.19 million tons year-over-year, as Federal Customs Service of Russia said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The volume of Russian exports of newsprint for the reporting period amounted to 657.3 thousand tons, 5.4% lower than a year earlier.

Exports of wood pulp from Russia increased by 8% in value and amounted to $628.6 million; exports of newsprint decreased by 28.2% to $270.3 million.

1.145 million tons of wood pulp (+14.5%) worth $605.6 million (+8.4%) were shipped to other countries in January-July 2015; to CIS countries – 41.3 thousand tons (+7.3%) worth $22.9 million (-3.4%).

598.3 thousand tons of newsprint (-3.2%) worth $244.8 million (-26.3%) were shipped to other countries in January-July 2015; to CIS countries – 59 thousand tons (-23%) worth $25.5 million (-42.4%).
