ISLAMABAD: In line with Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, PIA will establish 12 Aircraft Maintenance training centers across the county before mid 2015 to train the youth in this important field.
This was announced by Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Shujaat Azeem while inaugurating second training Centre of PIA on Wednesday at Rawalpindi.
Shujaat said that in two years our youth can earn a respectable livelihood as senior technicians and in another three years they can become certified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
“It will enable them to grab employment opportunities in airline industry within country and abroad as well”, said Shujaat Azeem. He congratulated PIA management on this accomplishment. The airline has already opened a Training Centre in Lahore and now Rawalpindi with more branches to be opened in all provinces, wherein two years training shall be imparted in Aerospace and Avionics. PIA will launch Nawabshah and Swat wings by end of November and, Peshawar and Quetta Training Campuses before 31st December 2014.
PIA since last four decades, is imparting trainings in all aviation disciplines including Flight Operations, Engineering & Maintenance, Flight Services, Customer Services and Airline Marketing etc.
Training is being provided on all latest aircraft like Boeing 777, A320 and ATR, as well as classic aircraft like Boeing 747, 737 & Airbus A310.
Recently, PIA Training Centre acquired ANO-147 approval for “Engineering & Maintenance” trainings, being the historic first in Pakistan, no other institute in Pakistan has this certification.
PIA Training Centre is ISO 9001:2008 certified and is approved from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. Besides, it also carries worthy status of “IATA Authorised Training Centre” for the region.
