KUALA LUMPUR: The second phase of an expansion project at an oil storage facility at port of Port of Tanjung Pelepas has been completed.
Another 262,000 m3 of storage capacity has been added to the ATT Tanjung Bin facility in Johor, Malaysia, owned by VTTI. In addition to the extra capacity, the terminal also has a new jetty capable of serving Aframax tankers of a maximum of 120,000 DWT.
A total of 12 new tanks have been added to the facility. The storage capacity, which is dedicated to fuel oil, has already been leased out to third parties on long term contracts. With the additional capacity, the facility has a total of 1.15 million m3 of storage capacity, in addition to six berths which can accommodate VLCCs.
Aernout Boot, general manager of the terminal, says: ‘With increased capacity and a new jetty, we can now better serve our existing and customers in the region.’
