ANKARA: Trading Standards officials in Lincolnshire have seized 700 bottles of illegal alcohol in the county since April.
Officers say this represents a massive increase because in the whole of last year, just 10 bottles were removed from premises.
And the dramatic rise is blamed on a combination of better tip-offs from the public and a wider availability of illicit booze.
Such drinks produced in unlicensed distilleries can contain potentially dangerous chemicals like anti-freeze, while cheap bottles could be falsely labelled as more expensive brands.
