Exporters want more rice export to S Lanka

KARACHI: Rice Exporters Association Chairman Rafique Salman has averred that he flouted proposal to Trade Development of Pakistan and Ministry of Commerce for increasing exports of rice.

He added,  “We are exporting 6,000 metric tonnes of rice to Sri Lanka which can increased to 15,000 metric tonnes. This step will increase bilateral trade which will ultimately benefit Pakistan.”

Talking exclusively to Customs Today on Thursday, he stressed the Trade Development of Pakistan to issue quota before shipment so that normal exporters do not feel troubles. He said he said they had flouted best and transparent proposals last year which could have benefitted Pakistan. However, he  said that their proposals have not accepted yet despite the fact they had reminded the authorities concerned many times.
