YUMA: Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents seized more than $120,000 worth of drugs during separate incidents.
Agents stopped two lawful permanent resident males, travelling through Dome Valley in an apparent attempt to circumvent Wellton Station’s eastbound checkpoint on Interstate 8. Agents then charged the duo for drug smuggling after finding 3.3 pounds of methamphetamine, worth an estimated $16,500; 3.1 pounds of hashish oil, valued at more than $31,600; and 2,450 oxycodone pills worth approximately $58,800.
Earlier, agents stopped a U.S. citizen traveling along Interstate 10 with 45 pounds of marijuana, valued in excess of $10,300, 6.5 pounds of edible cannabis, and $4,450 in suspected drug proceeds.
All subjects, drugs, cash and vehicles will be processed per Yuma Sector guidelines.
