BUNDABERG: A Woman has asked to have her bail conditions changed so she can live with her fiancé, who she allegedly tried to smuggle drugs to while he was serving a sentence in prison.

Patricia Jane McMaster appeared before Maryborough Magistrates Court for committal mention, facing charges of aggravated supply of dangerous drugs within a correctional facility, giving or attempting to give a prohibited thing to a prisoner and possessing dangerous drugs.

McMaster was granted bail during an earlier court appearance on the condition she make no contact with her fiancé.

However he had now been released on parole and was living in Bundaberg.

The court heard the two were eager to live with each other again.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Kath Stagoll said the woman’s fiancé would not be a witness in the case against McMaster as he had told police he “didn’t ask her to do anything”.

“She did it off her own bat,” Sgt Stagoll said.

Magistrate John Smith altered the bail conditions, allowing McMaster to live with her fiancé.
