MALAYSIAN:Malaysian Tamils, who have proposed to create an integrated industrial township along Tuticorin Madurai Industrial Corridor, have decided to create five such ‘smart cities’ along the corridor, thanks to the confidence instilled by the recently held Global Investors’ Meet in Chennai.
Participating in an interaction, jointly organised here on Saturday night by Tirunelveli District Chamber of Commerce and Industry and AMRL Hitech City Limited, Selvarajoo Sundram, chairman, GOPIO (Global Organization of People of Indian Origin) International, said that the Global Investors’ Meet had sown confidence in the minds of potential investors across the globe, especially among Malaysian Tamils, as the officials designated for this purpose were so serious in attracting industrial investments to Tamil Nadu by facilitating clearance process within the stipulated 30 days deadline set by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
Since the southern districts of Tamil Nadu, especially Tirunelveli and Tuticorin, had immense potential with adequate availability of skilled workers, vast stretches of unused lands, power and water facility, this region would see tremendous change in the days to come, he said.Tuticorin Madurai Industrial Corridor, which would house Malaysian Tamil’s integrated industrial township, would see more developments in the coming years.
