New PIA Chairman Jaffer extolled

LAHORE: The PIA management has lauded the appointment of new chairman Nasser N S Jaffer and hoped the airline will make progress as he is an experienced business leader with in-depth knowledge.

According to PIA spokesman, Jaffer is a seasonal and outstanding businessman and the CEO of Jaffer Brothers Private Limited and Chairman of Jaffer Group of Companies.

The new chairman, after assuming charge, said that he was very grateful on being given stewardship of the national flag carrier and he would endeavour to transform PIA into a profitable organisation.

Spokesman said that he was expected to provide leadership in the achievement of PIA’s short and long-term goals, adding, “The new PIA chairman will likely to translate his vigour into the organisation’s services as its strongest element.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the new PIA Chairman will neither draw any salary nor any fringe benefits from the airline and will dedicate his time, experience and knowledge as his contribution to the success of Pakistan and PIA.

Earlier, Jaffer served on the Board of PIA from July 3, 2013 to August 01, 2013. He is at present Chairman of the PIA Board’s Information Technology Steering Committee as well as Member of the PIA Board’s Audit Committee and Fleet Management Committee.
