ISLAMABAD: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Secretariat expediting the implementation of cases containing FTO recommendations in order to build better coordination between tax collecting body and the taxpayers.
FTO officials told Customs Today that it was essential to increase the ratio of implementation over cases with FTO recommendations.
Referring to FTO office’s extraordinary achievement in this regard, they stated that 978 cases of the said nature were implemented in 2014. During the preceding year, the same office could only get 684 cases implemented, they said.
Meanwhile, they also stated that the FTO office had to take special measures for getting its recommendations implemented and the office had been concerned over the matter.
Stating FTO cases, issued during 2008-2014, they said that over 900 cases were pending implementation by the country’s tax collecting institutions and its field offices despite reasonable number of cases implemented.
Documents also revealed that by end of year 2014, as many as 686 cases were pending implementation by FBR.
According to details, out of these cases pending implementation, 387 were filed in 2014 and 299 were filed in 2013.
