MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue(FBR) has introduced a new policy to tackle the menace of smuggling because it is badly affecting the economy of Pakistan. The smuggling activities are increasing throughout the country.
According to the new policy, the Customs officials will meet the Border Security Agencies (BSAs) every week to share the information and intelligence to control the smuggling. Regarding this, a new strategy has been recommended and this coordinated effort will severely damage the enhanced activities of the smugglers.
The new policy says that the Customs officials and BSAs will share their pieces of information and intelligence every week to tighten a circle around the smugglers.
The FBR statistics reveal that 705 smugglers have been arrested by the Customs officials in different operations throughout the country from July 2010 to June 2015.
