COLOMBO: A container with 4,830 kgs of red sandalwood, valued at Rs 100 Million, was seized by staff of the Customs Preventive Division at the Colombo Fort Preventive Office.
An exporter from Colombo had declared to the customs department that the container contained 532 pieces of pillows, cushions and padding to be exported to Malaysia.
However investigations led to the discovery of red sandalwood inside.
Two suspects have been arrested by the customs department in this regard.
