CORK CITY: A total of 130,000 cigarettes, worth around €67,000, have been seized in Cork city.
The ‘NZ Slims’, which had arrived from Poland were seized at a commercial premises and were concealed in mannequins, similar to two previous seizures earlier this week.
In a separate operation, revenue seized 19 kilos of dried Khat worth €3,600 in Ennis in Co Clare.
Khat is a stimulant with similar effects to amphetamine. It comes from a leafy green plant of the same name and the fresher the leaves, the stronger the effect.
The drugs had arrived in a package which had originated from Kenya.
A 30-year-old Ethiopian man has been questioned at Ennis Garda Station.
