SANTA BARBARA COUNTY: The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a suspected smuggling boat along the Gaviota coastline.
The boat was spotted about a half mile east of Mariposa Reina. It was seen on the beach by a passerby who called the Sheriff’s Office.
The U.S. Coast Guard, California Highway Patrol, and State Parks officers are also on scene.
Some bales of Marijuana have been recovered. No arrests have been made.
This has been one of the locations where drug smuggling vessels have been seen in the past.
