FALFURRIAS: Customs and Border Protection employees rendered assistance to victims of a rollover accident near the Brooks County rest stop on U.S. Highway 281 North.
The incident took place at approximately 3:30 p.m. when on off-duty Office of Air and Marine pilot contacted the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint to inform them that a vehicle rollover had just occurred. The pilot added that two elderly people were trapped inside the vehicle. Border Patrol agents from the Falfurrias Station were immediately dispatched to the area just north of the rest stop. Upon arrival, the agents and the off-duty pilot were able to keep the vehicle from tipping over onto its roof while safely extracting the couple from the passenger side door. Agents administered first aid until an ambulance arrived.
