China’s trade in electronic information products fall 1.1% to $818.3bn

BEIJING: China’s foreign trade of electronic information products fell 1.1 percent to 818.3 billion U.S. dollars in the first eight months of 2015, according to data from the Ministry of Industry of Information Technology.

Exports stood at 485.7 billion dollars, down 1 percent year on year. Imports were down 1.3 percent at 332.6 billion dollars.

During the first eight months, computer exports fell 12.9 percent to 124 billion dollars and their imports fell 10.1 percent to 34.9 billion dollars.

Mobile phones exports climbed 15.8 percent to 69.8 billion dollars.

China’s exports to Japan and the Netherlands fell 13.3 percent and 11.5 percent to reach 28.6 billion dollars and 19.9 billion dollars respectively. Exports to Singapore and India went up 18.9 percent and 10.8 percent respectively.

Guangdong, Jiangsu and Shanghai took the top spots in terms of exports volume, but the three economic powerhouses all reported declining exports. Guizhou, Qinghai and Guangxi saw growth rates of more than 100 percent.
