KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to take action against tax evaders.
FBR sources told Customs Today that action would be taken against tax evaders from sugar and cement sectors in the first phase. A vigorous operation is likely to start against the tax evaders in November. Sources said the FBR failed to meet revenue targets due to tax evasion by the cement and sugar sectors.
The FBR is finalising plans in this regard. Sources said action would be taken in the next week and officials have been ordered to collect all details in this regard. They said an improved strategy would be devised to cope with tax evaders from these sectors.
