Customs Peshawar fails to achieve monthly revenue target

PESHAWAR: Peshawar Custom has failed to achieve its monthly target of Rs 2249.72 and collected 2083.42 billion in September under the heads of custom duty, sales tax, withholding tax and federal excise duty.

The target of custom duties for the month of September was Rs 753.06 million while the custom house achieved Rs 701.96 million under the head of custom duties while the collection figure in August 2015 was Rs 440.53 million.

The target for sale tax was Rs 1059.70 while the total revenue collection in this sector was Rs 751.93. This figure of sale tax in August 2015 was Rs 673.79 million while the collection figure in August 2014 was Rs 1010.18.

The target of withholding tax for the month of September was Rs 408.01 million, but the customs surpassed the target as it collected Rs 430.41 million. The department had collected Rs 361.74 million in the same period last year. The increase in percentage is 5.49 percent.

Under the head of federal excise duty, the target was Rs 28.95 million while the revenue collection figure R 21.91 million.
