KARACHI: Clearance of copper pipes is being done by miss-declaring the consignments at Pak Shaheen Terminal (PST), the sources reported.
According to the sources, Customs has suspended one staff member who was involved in this matter, after knowing about the matter by secret sources. The sources told Customs Today that the importers were miss-declaring the huge quantity of imported copper consignments by mentioning only baby toys at PST.
The sources further told Customs Today that due to this the government has to bear a heavy loss of money. The Customs officials raided a consignment at PST after secret information and found the consignment loaded with copper pipes instead of baby toys.
The Customs has suspended one staff member and started further investigation in this regard.
