Dubai Customs hosts 2nd ‘Health Fair’ campaign with Saudi-German Hospital

DUBAI: Dubai Customs is holding its second Health Fair from the 4th to the 8th of October. Organized by Dubai Customs’ Ladies Committee in collaboration with the Saudi German Hospital, the fair is a part of the breast cancer awareness campaign activities organized in Dubai Customs during the month of October.

It also coincides with the global initiative ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’ first launched in October 2006 and held annually in October across the world. The campaign adopts a pink emblem with the aim of increasing attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment of breast cancer as well as palliative care of this disease.

While touring the fair along with executive directors, His Excellency Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Dubai Customs Director, commended the Ladies Committee’s efforts and its role in organizing a wide range of events targeting employees’ health awareness. He also stressed on DC’s keenness on employees health and safety as one of the ultimate priorities as part of the DC’s corporate social responsibility.

H.E. Ahmed Mahboob was briefed by the exhibitors and the medical specialists present on the free services and consultations being delivered to the employees. These services include medical check-ups of blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol levels, dietitian and nutrition advice and other tests for both men and women alike. H.E. Ahmed Mahboob also extended his gratitude for the Saudi German Hospital and the participating exhibitors.

The Head of Dubai Customs’ Ladies Committee, Mariam Khalifa Al Shamsi pointed that it is of the committee’s top priorities to increase the level of awareness of such life-threatening diseases. She highlighted the committees’ activities in this month, including the designation of female employees pink parking lots for the month, placing a pink stage at the DC HQ entrance, the distribution of the ‘Breast Cancer’ awareness campaign pink bracelets in early October.

The fair also included a wide range kiosks providing a bundle of promotional offers which included a special device that can be used by women at home for early detection of breast cancer. The visitors can also enjoy a range of refreshing healthy pink drinks and the ladies corner for skin and nails care.
