JAIPUR: Over 2-kg gold worth Rs 62 lakh was today seized from a 26-year-old woman at Jaipur International airport by the sleuths of Customs department, a senior official said.
The accused, Heena Javed Rindani, was arrested after interrogation, Assistant Commissioner Of Customs Jyoti Meena told PTI.
The woman was on her way from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai via Jaipur when her luggage was checked by Customs officials after which they found 2.561-kg gold hidden in the transformer of the microwave oven when flight landed at around 5.30 am, she said.
The gold was seized and woman was arrested under the Customs Act, she said.
