PESHAWAR: To keep check on evasion of custom duty and illegal Afghan citizen, the National Logistic Cell (NLC) terminal has started work at Torkham border where all kinds of facilities, including custom clearance, have been made available. This terminal has been completed with financial assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The terminal has been constructed over 432 kanals at a cost of Rs 9 billion. The terminal has the facilities of Customs station, baggage scanner, walk-through gates, display centre, warehouse, weight station and banks.
In the first phase of the project, passage cards will be issued to the persons coming from Afghanistan and for this purpose, the office of National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) and FIA started work.
Through NLC terminal Pakistani goods will have access to Central Asian Countries and even to Europe via Peshawar-Torkham Road.
