Indian police seize 325 cartons of smuggled liquor

GHAZIABAD: Police have seized 325 cartons of smuggled liquor in two separate cases and arrested two bootleggers during road checkings in Ghaziabad. Kavi Nagar police seized smuggled liquor today around 9.30 AM when they signaled a Canter truck to stop at Viveka Nand Nagar trisection, said Police SHO Kavi Nagar, Ashok Shisodia.

Upon checking the vehicle, 300 cartons of liquor were recovered and driver, Raju Mahto, was arrested, police said. Yesterday, Modi Nagar Police had also seized one echo van and recovered 25 cartons of smuggled liquor and arrested one Kapil, a native of Faridabad, said SHO Modi Nagar Deepak Sharma. Both the drivers have been sent to jail and vehicles have been impounded, they added.
