EL PASO: U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations officers working at the El Paso port of entry apprehended a man wanted on outstanding warrant out of Tarrant County, Texas. The man was being sought on continuous sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 charges.
“CBP officers apprehend wanted people daily,” said Beverly Good, CBP El Paso Port Director. “Every time CBP officers take one of these dangerous people off the streets our community is safer.”
The apprehension was made shortly after noon Wednesday at the Ysleta international crossing. CBP officers were processing arriving pedestrian traffic when 32-year-old Francisco Javier Herrera Villa applied for entry and requested an I-94 travel document. Herrera is a resident of Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico.
CBP officers performed a query of the subject and determined that he had an outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody without incident. He was turned over to the U.S. Marshal Service.
In addition to the notable fugitive arrest CBP officer working at the El Paso port of entry Wednesday also seized 54.5 pounds of marijuana and 30.6 pounds of methamphetamine in four drug busts.
