ANF recovers 138-kg drugs, nails 4 peddlers

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) claimed to have recovered 114 kgs of heroin and 24 kgs of charas besides arresting four drug peddlers including a lady.

The ANF conducted raids in various cities including Rawalpindi, Lahore and Peshawar and thwarted attempts to smuggle narcotics.

According to the force, the captured drugs worth more than Rs 782 million in international market.

As per details, the ANF airport team on a tip-off foiled bid to smuggle heroin abroad and recovered 108 kg heroin from a consignment at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.

The consignment was consisted of grinding machine in a wooden box and the heroin was tactfully concealed inside the wooden packing. The consignment was destined for Malaysia and was booked by Inam Ullah, a resident of Gujranwala for a recipient namely Mushtaq Ahmed residing at Bentong Pahang, Malaysia.

In another raid, the ANF intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car (M-4531) near Quid-e-Azam International Hospital near Golra Mor on GT Road and recovered 5 kgs of heroin from it.

The force also arrested two drug smugglers identified as Imdad Hussain, a resident of Karachi and Atiquur Rehman, a resident of Khyber Agency. As per reports, the hard drug was being transported from Khyber Agency to Rawalpindi city.

Similarly, the ANF a lady drug peddler identified as Sadia Bibi, a resident of Rawalpindi with 500 grams heroin. She was arrested in a raid carried near Grave Yard No-36 Pir Wadhai, Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, the ANF recovered 24 kgs of charas from a Honda Civic car (LOV-0206) near Motorway Toll Plaza in Peshawar.

The drug was tactfully concealed in the oil-tank and cavities in front doors of the car. The force also nabbed one Muhammad Usman, a resident of Peshawar.

The ANF has registered case under CNS Act 1997.
