LAHORE: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of firing at the son of Customs Intelligence Officer by smugglers and has directed the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to arrest culprits immediately.
The Chief Minister took action after the news that smugglers fired volley of bullets injured Mohsin Yasin, the elder son of Customs Investigation and Intelligence Officer Mian Muhammad Yasin who was conducting a high profile investigation regarding millions of rupees tax evasion.
According to details, assailants cum smugglers equipped with sophisticated weapons reached his residence at Wafaqi Colony. After knocking the door his son came out and tell them that his father ( Mian Muhammad Yasin) is not at home. After inquiring this, assailants opened fired at him injuring seriously and fled from the scene. His son was rushed to Jinnah Hospital immediately by other family members.
Mian Muhammad Yasin said he launched a crackdown on smugglers and smashed gangs of tax evaders involving billions of rupees. He said he also unearthed another gang of smugglers who used to import electronic goods from China and later changed with stones and marbles bear a loss of millions of rupees taxes in national kitty.
