TOKYO: Tokyo stocks rose on Tuesday morning in tandem with overnight gains on Wall Street, but the rebound was restrained as market players were reluctant to make bold moves ahead of a series of upcoming monetary policy meetings in Europe, the United States and Japan.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average went up 52.03 points, or 0.29 percent, from Monday to 18,183.26. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 2.52 points, or 0.17 percent, to 1,497.27.
