Panasonic launched Toughpad FZ-Y1 rugged tablet at Rs 2,40,000

PARIS: Panasonic has launched a rugged tablet in its Toughpad series called the Toughpad FZ-Y1 for Rs 2,40,000. This Windows 10 running rugged tablet is meant for broadcasters, photographers, architects and other professionals.

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1 houses an Intel Core i5-5300 vPro chipset which has Intel HD Graphics 5500. This is paired with 8GB of RAM. There is 256GB of SSD storage and there are multiple ports such as a USB 3.0 port, an SDXC card slot, a mini DisplayPort, an HDMI 2.0 port and so on. It features Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-fi.

The Toughpad FZ-Y1 sports a 20-inch 4K display (3840 x 2560 pixel) IPS alpha LCD display with touchscreen support. It has a 15:10 aspect ratio. It runs the Windows 8.1 Pro operating system.

Since it is a rugged tablet, it comes with special features optimised for durability. According to Panasonic, the tablet can withstand a drop from up to 76 cm height. The device can also work under temperatures going from -26 degrees C to 60 degrees C.

Gunjan Sachdev, national business head, Toughbook at Panasonic India said that the Toughpad FZ-Y1 prioritises the mobility infrastructure of business with a large format, high resolution display.
