JOHOR BARU: Police here have busted a drug trafficking syndicate following the arrest of three suspects during a raid at a house in Taman Mutiara Rini in Skudai here on Wednesday.
Johor police chief Datuk Rusli Ahmad said the raid was conducted at 12.30am on Wednesday after they received intelligence information about the syndicate, which was believed to be active in the Skudai area. “In the house, we found 1.18 kilogrammes of syabu, 461 grammes of ketamin, 894 grammes of heroin, 1,150 Eramin 5 pills and 585 ecstacy pills.
The drugs are valued at RM238,905,” said Rusli. Besides the drugs, the police also seized three cars, cash and jewelleries worth a total of about RM400,000 at the house. “The three suspects, aged between 24 and 42, tested positive for drug use and two of them are found to have records of previous offences,” said Rusli. He said the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
