ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that 58 parliamentarians, including three ministers have submitted tax returns after due date.
According to sources, the ECP has suspended the membership of 374 parliamentarians due to non-submission of tax returns. They could not be eligible to participate in any activity of parliament till submission of tax returns.
Sources added that now 58 more parliamentarians, including Minister for religious affair Sardar Yousaf, Minister for Trade Khurram Dastageer and State Minister Aminul Hasanat has submitted their tax returns and the election commission has revised their status.
According to Public Representatives Act, every member of parliament is responsible to submit tax returns till 30 September, sources added.
