HAVANA: Matteo Renzi, President of Italy’s Council of Ministers is paying an official visit to Cuba.
As part of his agenda here, the top government Italian official will preside over a Cuba-Italy business forum at Havana´s National Hotel and he will tour the Higher Arts Institute, where he will give a key-note lecture.
Renzi will also pay homage to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at Havana´s Revolution Square and will be officially received by Cuban authorities, PL news reported on Tuesday.
This is the first visit by Renzi to Latin America and the Caribbean since he took office on Febreaury 2014. His current tour includes Chile, Peru and Colombia.
Italy and Cuba share cordial and stable relations with highlights in the diplomatic and political areas as well as in bilateral cooperation, cultural and scientific exchange and in investment, particularly in tourism and energy.
