TOKYO: Earlier this year, Suzuki unveiled the iM-4 concept at the Geneva Motor Show. Now, the Japanese company has revealed the Ignis, which is believed to be the production version of the compact crossover, at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show.
The Ignis has an edgy design and a hatchback-like appearance. It has a mesh front grille, projector headlamps, round chrome lined fog lamps, flared wheel arches, vents on the sides of the bonnet, blackened A and B-pillars and alloy wheels. There are 3 diagonal slats on the C-pillar and the rear bumper features a large black insert.
The interior of the car features a dualt tone dashboard, multifunction steering wheel and a touchscreen infotainment system among other features.
Powering the Ignis is a 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine with and uses SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology. The car gets a continuously variable transmission and an all-wheel drive system. A 1.0-litre, 3-cyldiner Boosterjet petrol engine is expected to be available as well.
