Excise plans to trap property tax defaulters from November

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has decided to start crackdown against property tax defaulters from November 1, 2015.

Well-informed sources within the excise told Customs Today that permission has been granted by the department to take stern action against defaulters who are involved in evading property tax or reluctant to pay tax.

It is pertinent to mention here that the department is gearing up efforts to achieve the financial target assigned for the fiscal year 2015-16.

Sources further revealed that in the first stage, properties will be sealed of the defaulters, while in the next stage they will be arrested. These sources further said that the raiding parties were being formed nowadays, while the local police would also extend help to the excise teams to launch the crackdown on property tax defaulters.
