PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tuesday arrested nine serving and retired officers and a contractor for alleged embezzlement of millions of rupees through ghost projects.
According to NAB sources, the arrested accused caused a loss of 100 million rupees to the national exchequer through corruption.
The accused included Planning and Development Department Additional Secretary Dr Ambar Ali, Independent Monitoring Unit Director General Zulfiqar Khan, Tor Ghar Deputy Director Audit, Aslam Rafique, Tehsil Officer Infrastructure Muhammad Bashir, Assistant Tehsil Officer Abdul Hamid, Accountant Maqbool Rehman, Sub-Engineer Muhammad Razzaq, Azahar Jalil and contractor Abdul Mustafa.
