140 SMEs participate in Omani trade expo

MUSCAT: The five-day event, which concludes on November 7, will also offer an opportunity to the SMEs to sell their products and find new marketing windows.

Muscat: One hundred and forty small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from 15 different fields will participate in the third SME Expo under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Bakri, the minister of Manpower.

The main goal of the five-day exhibition, which begins on November 3 at the Oman International Exhibition Center, is to develop the capacity and skills of Omani entrepreneurs for showcasing and promoting their services and products.

The event, which concludes on November 7, will also offer an opportunity to the SMEs to sell their products and find new marketing windows, in addition to exchanging of views among the participants on marketing, packaging and promotion. It will also highlight the Omani local products and encourage productive families.

The exhibition is organised by The Public Authority of SME Development (Riyada), The Public Authority for Craft Industry, Oman Chamber of Commerce, Al Raffd Fund, and Oman International Exhibition Center.

Various SMEs participating in the expo includes green economy, craft industries, medical services, training services, hospitality services and organisation of events, e-services, travel and tourism services, food products, fashion accessories, incense, frankincense, restaurants and cafes, winners of Entrepreneurship Award 2014, the winners Injaz Oman, and Oman Creators campaign.

The second and third days of the exhibition will conduct eight workshops presented by different Public and Private Institutions and takes place at Oman International Exhibition Center Hall.
