KARACHI: The transporters have alleged that the city government has started impounding containers loaded with export/import goods to barricade roads for security reasons during Muharram.

They also allege that the authorities start crack down on their container every time there is a procession without paying any charges.

They further said that the government had been creating more and more problems for transporters as it was just a few days ago when the city government had returned containers after the Pakistan People’s Party’s public meeting.

“The government will return the impounded containers after Ashura and we are sure that they will not compensate us,” they added.

They demanded the government make other arrangement for security so that the transporters can earn their livelihood without any official disturbance.
