LONDON: To facilitate persons travelling to and from the British Virgin Islands, the government has announced extended operating hours for six months at the ports on Virgin Gorda as well as West End, Tortola.
The West End facility is now being closed at 9pm, and that on Virgin Gorda stops operating at 7pm.
The facilities are usually open until the last scheduled ferry reaches port about 6pm weekdays.
“The government of the Virgin Islands is advising the public that the operating hours at the West End and Virgin Gorda ports of entry will be extended effective November 2, 2015 until April 30, 2016,” said a media advisory from the government’s communication arm.
It added, “The extension of operational hours at the ports of entry is a collaborative effort between the Immigration Department and the Customs Department to facilitate the ease of persons travelling to and from the territory.”
