ANF foils bids to smuggle 1.45 kgs herion at Islamabad Airport

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled bids to smuggle drugs to foreign countries and recovered 1.45 kilograms of heroin while arrested two accused at Airport Islamabad.

The ANF sources told Customs Today that the ANF team has recovered one kilograms of heroin from a passenger named Ghualm Abbas when he arrived at the ANF counter, sources said, adding that a Civil Aviation Officer was with him for protocol but when ANF team recovered the drugs the said officer disappeared from the spot. The arrested accused was going to Sharjah via flight no EY- 2553.

In another attempt, the ANF team recovered 450 grams of heroin from passenger named Shabeer from departure lounge. Sources added that accused Shabeer was ready to fly from flight no. PA-212 to Abu-Dubai.

Sources said that the ANF team has arrested both the accused and has registered cases of smuggling against them.
