Gujranwala FIA arrests three human traffickers

SIALKOT: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a notorious human trafficker-turned-proclaimed offender (PO), who used to extort amounts from the heirs of the people after blackmailing them, sent abroad by him illegally.

Deputy Director FIA Gujranwala Ch. Khalid Anees told that the FIA teams arrested red handed the Hafizabad based accused Rana Imran from Gujranwala while collecting the extortion money Rs 130,000 in cash from the heirs of a Gujranwala based youth Muhammad Bilal illegally sent abroad by the accused, after blackmailing.

He added that the accused had been running a black business of sending the innocent people abroad especially European, African , Middle East Countries and Gulf States after getting big amounts from them by showing them the golden dreams of their lucid future abroad since long by bundling them into different containers and boats via Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan and Malaysia.

Deputy Director FIA added that the accused had also established its private torture cell near the Iran and Turkey border, where he used to get his illegally sent people hostage there by his local (turkey and Iran based) companions there.

He revealed that the FIA has also arrested two other accused human traffickers Muhammad Khan (from Phalia-Gujrat) and Shafqat (from Wazirabad) on the reports got by some persons reached back Sialkot international airport after being deported from different countries including France and Turkey. FIA has sent the accused behind the bars after registering separate cases against them. Further investigations were underway, in this regard.

Meanwhile, a local judicial magistrate has granted two-day physical remand of the two notorious human traffickers Rana Imran and Shafqat, besides, sending seven other accused human traffickers including Sadique, Naveed, Ilyas and Akbar to jail on two week-long judicial remand.
