FBR to ensure free tax number of government departments‏

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office Multan conducted a video conference on the issue of Free Tax Number with other Regional Tax Offices.

The FBR is facing hurdles in monitoring the withholding taxes collection from the government departments. All the government departments are issued free tax number for documenting their annual financial budget and expenditures.

The government departments are bound to provide free tax numbers of suppliers of their office stationary and other goods for the collection of taxes.

Various Regional Tax Offices including Multan ,Bahawalpur, Quetta  ,Sukkar, Sialkot, Karachi, Hyderabad ,Lahore and Abbotabad were participated in video conference on free tax number .The purpose of video conference is to ensure tax collection from government departments and their suppliers which participated in different tenders.

According to sources, video conference also highlighted the various tasks essential for regional tax officers to allot free tax number to government departments in order to bring more transparency in the financial matters for collection of taxes.
