SHAMSHABAD: Customs officials on Thursday seized gold biscuits weighing 4.6 kilogramme worth around Rs. 1.2 crore from a woman passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad.
According to the custom officials, the woman, identified as Gangula Malleshwari hailing from Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, arrived at Shamshabad at about 12.10 a.m. on Thursday in a flight from Bangkok. While the woman was walking towards the exit area, a team of officials intercepted her. On checking, they found the gold biscuits concealed in a cloth and tied around her hip.
The police detained the woman, who works at a shop in Bangkok.
