British retailer Marks & Spencer climbed 7 percent after reporting forecast-beating results.
Shares in Lundin Petroleum surged 4.5 percent after the Swedish oil and gas producer posted third-quarter earnings above expectations. At 0809 GMT, the FTS Eurofirst 300 index of top European shares was up 0.8 percent at 1,337.16 points, after falling 1 percent on Tuesday.
